H.A.P.P.Y. Youth Staff

The H.A.P.P.Y. Youth Staff is a prevention group of 18 Hancock County high school students who desire to make a difference in their schools, communities, and county by taking a clear stand against alcohol, tobacco, or other drug (ATOD) use.  Trained in education, drama, and service, the Youth Staff perform at schools, business meetings, and community functions throughout the area, impacting peers and adults with a message promoting healthy life choices.  The Youth Staff also aims to connect with junior high and high school students, inviting them to monthly social events that are fun, safe, and alcohol, tobacco, and other drug free.  To become a Youth Staff member, a young person must be a current high school student in Hancock County.  They then must apply, interview, and be selected based on leadership qualities, individual ability, and passion for promoting the ATOD free message.
